Budget

BUDGET COMMITTEE is in charge of allocating money from the Student Activity Fee and consists of a University Finance Subcommittee, which examines the financial considerations of the University each fall within the context of the student concerns. Budget Committee acts as the “watchdog” of campus programming and ensures there is diversity in programming and limits over-programming.

Budget Committee meets every Friday at noon in the WCSA Office (Ham-Wil 210)

Feel free to contact any of the committee members with any questions, comments, or concerns:

Budget Request

  • If an organization wants to request money, simply pick up a budget request form and follow the instructions.
  • Budget request forms can be picked up in the Student Involvement Office or downloaded here, and can be dropped off in the Student Involvement box labeled “WCSA Funding Requests.”
  • When requesting funds, it is required that someone from the organization, preferably the President and/or Treasurer come to the next WCSA Budget Committee meeting. We meet in the WCSA office (Ham-Wil 210) at noon on Fridays.
  • Requests must be submitted a minimum of 2 weeks (14 days) in advance of the date of the event. It is highly recommended that the organization plans ahead and asks for money in advance of the two week deadline.

If there are any questions, please feel free to e-mail Megan Evans (mmevans2@owu.edu) or call her at 616-916-0013. If there is a need to have a meeting outside of regular budget committee hours, please try to get a hold of me more than 48 hours in advance.

Spring Funding

  • Spring funding is a way WCSA allocates student organizations’ annual budget for each academic year in the Spring Semester for the immediately preceding academic year.
  • All requests must be submitted with detailed itemization of the proposed events and its costs, as well as the proposed expenditure of funds requested.
  • Each student organization must send at least one representative to at least one informational session. If this is not possible, the organization must make suitable arrangements with the Treasurer beforehand. No Spring Funding will be given to any organization that was not represented at one of these sessions or did not make the appropriate arrangements.

Important Spring Funding Dates
